So says a 1968 Justice Department memo that the FBI withheld from the Louis Stokes 1979 congressional investigation into the killings of Dr. King and JFK. This memo appears as just a small part of a trove of new information about King's assassination in the massive new book "Legacy of Secrecy" by Lamar Waldron.

Now, about Brad Pitt's story in Feb ruary's W magazine. He says he and Jennifer Aniston "still check in with one another." Ok by me. Not that any of the three principals - including Angelina - care if it's okay by me but it is okay by me because what you should know is, they're all nice people. Roseanne: Israel Is 'Nazi'

Roseanne Barr is on the side of the Palestinians in the conflict in the Gaza Strip. "Israel is a Nazi state," she blogged with capital letters on her Web site. And on her Jan. 6 talk show on radio station Kcaa-am in San Bernardino, Calif., she blasted conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg's "right-wing Israel uber alles crap." Roseanne, who is Jewish, also denounced "warmongering American rabbis . . . who are enriching themselves on weapon sales." She said that pro-Israel Christian evangelicals believe, "The faster every Jew in Israel dies, the faster the evangelicals mistakenly believe that their idea of Jesus will return.

'City' Guy Has Arrest Record

The $100 fine that insufferable Nevan Donahue had to pay for spitting on the subway on last week's episode of MTV's "The City" is the least of his legal worries. According to the clerk at the Palm Beach Courthouse, Donahue, 28, has a warrant out for his arrest for failing to meet terms of his probation after he was busted last year for trying to pick up a prostitute. Donahue, the ostensibly straight cousin of uptown "social" Olivia Palermo, was given probation and told to complete 75 hours of community service after being arrested Feb.

Vulgar Brolin Tirade At Critic

Ben Brantley had better hope he never runs into Josh Brolin in a dark alley.
As Brolin was accepting the Supporting Actor prize from the New York Film Critics Circle for his turn as murderous Dan White in "Milk" on Monday night, he announced, "As much as actors like to say they don't read reviews, I do." Brolin then launched into a diatribe against the chief theater critic of the New York Times.

Actress' Next Groom Just Might Be Oscar

Anne Hathaway, being burbled about as a maybe Oscar nominee for "Rachel Getting Married," presses onward in the wedding mode. Her new movie with Kate Hudson is "Bride Wars." So at the premiere, I asked her parents about their own marriage.
"It's been terrific," said Jerry, an attorney. "We're together 28 years."
And the best thing about it is?
"The great sex," said Kate, a former actress.
Considering we'd just barely said hi, I figured I heard wrong. What's the best thing about it?
"Oh, definitely, the great sex. Still is," she said.

The year 2009 is just a week old, and I have already found a contender for the top-10 list I expect to compile come December.
It is "Silent Light," and the director is Carlos Reygadas, whose first two features, "Japon" and "Battle in Heaven," wowed difficult-to-please critics, including this one. So it means something when I say "Silent Light," his third feature, is his most mature work yet.

USA Today founder Al Neuharth has a little embarrassment on his hands. Tax documents reveal the Freedom Forum, the journalism charity started by Neuharth with money from the Gannett newspaper chain, shelled out nearly $66,000 in grants to a Florida adoption agency run by his third wife, Rachel Fornes, who was paid about $76,000 in wages by the agency. Gannett watchdog Jim Hopkins says Home at Last is one of hundreds of non profits that got millions in Forum grants since 2000, even though many "appear to share little in common with the charitable foun dation's journalism mission." No Love For Isle-hogging Noels

The Noel family, which lost half its fortune in Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme, was relieved when it was able to rent out the clan's Mustique mansion over the holidays - but they weren't the only ones who were happy. One local resident told Page Six that "the No. 1 comment this winter was how much nicer it is on the island without the Noels."
Even the local watering holes picked up on neighbors' joy at the brood's absence, with one well-known bar featuring a "No Noel" cocktail, which our source described as "a take on a mojito."
