7 January 2009 3:08 AM, PST
Bollywood's favorite couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may have just returned from a grueling shooting schedule (down South) for Mani Ratnam's Raavana (working title) but that hasn't deterred them from signing yet another film together. The Kareena - Priyanka - Deepika battle royale for Billu Barber
7 January 2009 1:54 AM, PST
Click above for more movie stills Now that Shah Rukh Khan has roped in three screen sizzlers for three different item songs in Billu Barber, a battle royale seems to be brewing among them as to who jives and sizzles the best with Shah Rukh Khan. At the moment Kareena has the edge. Or so she seems to think. "My song with Shah Rukh is awesome. That's why it's the first song to go on air on television. Shah Rukh and I have done an item song before. So we share the required vibes," says Kareena whose 'Yeh Mera Dil' track with Srk in Don was talked-about for months. Kareena has a point to prove. In 'Yeh Mera Dil' she was criticized for her dress, weight and even the remixed song which many (including the singer Sunidhi Chauhan) thought lacked verve. This time says Kareena, she wanted every component in

Wishing Bipasha Basu a very happy Birthday
6 January 2009 11:01 PM, PST
Today is the birthday of the Beautiful Indian Precious And Sexy Hot Actress. If you are wondering as to whom we are talking about, then the clue lies in the aforementioned initials, which is none other than Bipasha Basu, one of the front runners of Bollywood today. Having started quite early in life, the limelight befriended this model-turned actress even much before she won the mega prestigious 'Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest'. And it only becomes needless to say that Bips (as she is fondly called) and limelight alongwith fame and talent have always been the best of friends (Touch Wood!)! Even though she has been a top rung model, she always remained grounded and also accessible, which is what makes her raringly different from the other glam brigade. Like many of her peer models, Bips too succumbed to the umpteen lucrative offers from the representatives of the silver screen Inc.

Shahid Kapoor signed as the brand ambassador for Pioneer
6 January 2009 7:32 AM, PST
Shahid Kapoor seems to have held his ground in the time of recession. While all others are busy cutting their prices; this young star has made head way by sticking to his guns. Shahid has just recently been signed up as the brand ambassador for Pioneer. The move to sign Shahid to endorse music systems seems apparent due to his iconic status amongst the youth. Especially, since most of the time spent by youth today lies listening to music. However, this will not be the first time that Shahid has received a big endorsement deal, even earlier he was flooded with requests. However, he is very choosy about the endorsement deals that he signs. Looking at this, we can't help but cheer the young star. On the film front, Shahid has signed his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial venture. Besides this, he also has Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminay where he plays a double role,

"We may choose paid previews over premieres for CC2C" - Rohan Sippy
6 January 2009 2:44 AM, PST
Looking at the phenomenal response that Ghajini generated, courtesy dozens of paid previews that were happening simultaneously across the country a day before the film's official release, the makers of Chandni Chowk to China too are contemplating a similar approach. If Rohan Sippy has his way, he would do away with the Mumbai and New Delhi premieres (as originally planned) and would rather have audience (instead of invited celebrities) watch the film and decide it's worth themselves. "I want my film's audience to talk on what they feel about Chandni Chowk To China. Though we are going ahead with the international premieres, in India we are looking at possibilities of paid previews. In Mumbai, Delhi and probably some other centers as well, we would go ahead with the paid previews on 15th January, a day before CC2C sees a global release", says Rohan Sippy, one of the producers of

Govinda resumes shooting for Mundhra's Naughty At 40
6 January 2009 1:52 AM, PST
Putting an end to all speculation regarding the future of his project with Jagmohan Mundhra, Govinda resumed shooting for Naughty At 40 this week. "It was never Govinda's fault that the shooting had halted. We had some production problems which have now been sorted out. Govinda has never been troublesome. For a 3pm shift, he arrives at 2.30 pm." Mundhra feels it's time the industry realized they're in the throes of a recession. "Actors within the industry have realized it, and are working accordingly. There're reports of how Govinda has been troubling my project Naughty At 40. But the truth is that the project being in trouble has nothing to do with Govinda. On the contrary he has been unfailingly disciplined and punctual." The shooting now takes place in Punjab. Says Mundhra, "We shoot for twenty-five days and the film is done. The days of stretching a film and its budget are over.

'Raaz' is piping hot

Click above for more movie stills Now this is a real coincidence. While Hollywood studio Warner Bros. awaits, with bated breath, the feedback to Chandni Chowk To China on January 16, another Hollywood giant, Sony Pictures, is keeping its fingers crossed for Raaz - The Mystery Continues, which opens worldwide the following week, on January 23. The Bhatts are known for qualitative films and Raaz - The Mystery Continues is no exception. In fact, those who've watched the rushes feel that the film has the potential to score big time. There hasn't been an eerie movie for a while now and although Raaz - The Mystery Continues is dissimilar to Raaz, the brand should generate tremendous curiosity amongst viewers, translating into serpentine queues at the ticket counters. Meanwhile, a section of the media has reported that the Bhatts are planning to dub Raaz - The Mystery Continues in South languages [Tamil and Telugu], releasing it simultaneously with the Hindi version.

It's Akki's turn now

Click above for more movie stills Srk has proved it. Aamir has, well, taken a big leap. It's Akki's turn now. With Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini setting new records at the box-office and emerging true saviours for the strife-torn industry, all eyes are on the next-in-line biggie, Chandni Chowk To China. This film is more crucial for all those associated with it. Nikhil Advani made a tremendous debut with Kal Ho Naa Ho, but slipped with Salaam-e-ishq. He has to fire the salvo with Chandni Chowk To China. Hollywood giant Warner Bros., associated with this film in the capacity of its presenters, need to spread their wings in India and if Chandni Chowk To China works -- this being their first biggie in Hindi -- the studio would get the confidence to go all out and try their luck in Bollywood. Most importantly, Chandni Chowk To China

The F-word, fake orgasm get 'A' certificate for The President Is Coming
5 January 2009 7:48 AM, PST
Click above for more movie stills Producer Rohan Sippy and director Kunaal Roy Kapur are unperturbed that their upcoming release The President Is Coming has been meted with a 'A' certificate by the Censor Board. They would let the film's content stay intact rather than tone it down just so that it could find universal audience for itself. Since the film itself is aimed at urban youth, they believe that it is okay for it to bear an 'A' certificate stamp. "There is no fun in tampering with the content of your film unnecessarily. We know the language we are talking and that's the kind which is spoken around by the urban youth. It is not meant to be malicious or coming with a wrong contention but Censors felt that it won't be appropriate for kids to hear this language on screen", says Rohan Sippy who explains that it was

The Roshans have got Us-based choreographer Flexy Stu to choreograph a dance sequence in the film. Govinda, Sohail Khan opt out of Sangeeth Sivan's Kya Fool Hain Hum
5 January 2009 1:59 AM, PST
From 'Kool' to 'Fool'. In an effort to steal the thunder from the sequel for the enormously-successful Kya Kool Hai Hum from producer Ekta Kapoor, the original film's director is now producing Kya Fool Hain Hum. Ekta apparently is more amused than annoyed by this wannabe comedy which Sangeeth Sivan (now banished from Balaji) is co-producing with Sanjay Ahluwalia. Cinematographer-filmmaker Santosh Sivan's brother, Sangeeth Sivan is best known for the raunchy comedy that he made for Ekta's company. However, the much-talked-about sequel won't be directed by Sangeeth. Ajay Chandok, former assistant to David Dhawan, who is set to release his comedy Khallballi- Fun Unlimited this week and who has earlier directed Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu in Nehlle Pe Dehlla, is directing Kya Fool Hain Hum for producer Sangeeth Sivan. However, the parody Kya Fool Hain Hum on the parodic Kya Kool Hain Hum seems to
